Why I haven't been on Social Media since May 2018

Greetings my friends and faithful readers,

Thank you for sticking with me during this momentary slump in my writing regime. I assure you I will get my writing mojo back.

They say 'confession is good for the soul'. I don't like to talk about health issues on the internet, but I want you all to know why I have not been on much social media since May of 2018. I know you were used to seeing me daily on Twitter and having me post a serial story chapter 'here', weekly without fail, for the past 24 years.

In May, I underwent a lung biopsy. I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and Hypersensitivity Pnuemonitis. This means that I inhaled a toxic gas over a period of time which has permanently damaged my lungs. I have retired as of October 31st and therefore am no longer in that environment.

The bad news is, I will never fully recover. The good news is, I am off oxygen now and hope to regain 5-20% of the lung capacity I lost through clean living and holistic medicine. The modern medical community didn't have much to offer me for treatment. Prednisone was their only option. I chose not to go with that. Too many side effects.

The doctor gave me a "Sell by" date, but I intend to turn it into a "Best by" date and make them all eat their words.

So I am meditating, taking regular walks, eating right, doing acupuncture, and resting (a lot). Unfortunately, at this point, everything is an effort, even just writing a blog post.

I have a great support system of friends and I will get beyond this. I am not my disease. I am Theresa Snyder, author of Fantasy, Scifi and Paranormal.

  15. Hello dear friend. We had to watch a very close relative die of Asbestos + heart failure his weight was 24 kilo and we all grieve daily not only was he a beautiful human being but a very intelligent man who was like a sponge he was interested in so many things from genetics evolution and although not a religious man could quote so much from the Bible and knew so much about BC and lost civilizations His wife is not coping at all, she had 63 wonderful years of marriage and just can't cope with his loss.
She is also on Oxygen for Emphysema so know what it is like to struggle with a Lung problem. But you my friend have a vivid and wonderful imagination and when I too a stroll with you through your garden I felt such Peace that reached from your Video to my Lap Top I could actually 'feel the peace'
My thoughts are with you daily and I want you to know that. You have so much to give and have given so much pleasure with Farloft ( I tend to love children's books) I just want to take this opportunity to 'thank you' I only wish I lived in the same country as you as I would love to have met you in person. You will 'cope' with whatever path is before you and know that you are cared for by so many people. I am so glad I recommended your Farloft Stories as they have brought joy to some pretty sick children that where in Hospital.

  16. Hi Theresa,
I wish you well and sending prayers for strength in healing. I lost a lung to lung cancer and still have breathing issues. I do take different supplements & drink herbal teas but have found Dr Tobias Lung Health capsules help me. Everyone is different and I don't know all your health issues and meds but you might check with your dr. to see if you are ok to take it and give it a try. I get it from Amazon. Best wishes and strength your way.

  19. Hello Theresa from my wife and of course moi ! We are so sorry to learn of your health issue and feel more empathy than you can imagine as a member of our family died of Asbestos disease + heart failure 15 months ago the family even asked the family DR for medicinal Canabis because Morphine 4 times a day was no help. However the Oxygen did help. Are you letting Farloft have a rest too? so many of our friends know you now because of Farloft.
You lost your darling Dad too and our thoughts where with you then. I know for sure you hadn't Blocked me so I had this feeling ( my vibes are 99% right usually) something was wrong. I had a break also as my very old PC gave up and I had it repaired but I really need a 'new' one so I am not on TW as much and my dear wife has Emphysema + a spine that has 7 discs with no cartilage between the disc's. Please know we are thinking of you daily and when you feel you have a good day you can do a PRIVATE message. Please take care and positive healing thoughts are here in this message and a big HUG from both of us xx
